For this Grid Photo Gallery Black & White Open Call 2025, we invite photographers worldwide to explore the timeless power of monochrome. Black and white photography strips away distraction, leaving only form, light, and emotion. From stark contrasts to delicate gradations of gray, we’re looking for images that reveal stories in their purest visual language—where shadows carry weight, and highlights whisper meaning.
The strength of black and white lies in its ability to transform the ordinary into the poetic. A fleeting gesture, a weathered face, an architectural detail, or a landscape reduced to shape and tone—each becomes a meditation on essence rather than surface. This open call honors that artistry, welcoming diverse perspectives and techniques that engage with the discipline’s elegance and depth.
Black & White 2025 seeks a collection that celebrates both subtle nuance and bold drama. The selected works will form an online exhibition, bringing together voices from across the globe to showcase how light and absence of color can expand our ways of seeing. Join us by sharing the images that speak most strongly to you in monochrome—your vision could become part of this shared exploration of contrast, clarity, and timeless expression.

Selected photographs will be displayed in an online exhibition at Grid Photo Gallery.

All Selected Entries
- Displayed in our main-page exhibition for at least one month, then kept online permanently

- Personal profile page on our platform, including a link to your website
- The top three photographs from the Open Call will be eligible for the title “Photography of the Year”
The selected works will be published in a printed catalog available for purchase. Depending on circumstances, this catalog might feature various exhibitions or its publication schedule may vary.

Entry Fees
The participation in the contest has a single fee of 7€ per image.
There is no limit to the number of images you can submit. Please note that entry fees are non-refundable.

Participating in this open call for photography is very easy:
