About the Photographer

Born in Tychy in 1975, Artur Jastrzębski has dedicated his life and work to his hometown, a city that profoundly influences his photographic art. What began as a youthful passion for photography evolved into a clear artistic medium for Jastrzębski by the 21st century, allowing him to convey his ideas and emotions.

His first solo exhibition, “Impressions of Paprocanie,” took place in 2010, the same year he earned his first industry distinction for “Cielmice, a Unique Village.” Also in 2010, his series “Great Water in Paprocany,” documenting a major flood, became his most recognized and awarded work, receiving accolades in national and international competitions.

Jastrzębski played a significant role in the photographic community, founding and leading the Tychy Photographic Society for two years starting in 2013. He later became a member of the Łódź Photographic Society and a full member of the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland, earning the title of Artist Photographer (AFRP). His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including a Gold Medal and a Bronze Medal from the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland for “photographic creativity.”

Between 2018 and 2019, Jastrzębski revisited his beloved Paprocany with “Impresje paprocańskie 2/Cyanice,” which was exhibited in several Polish cities. He also participated in the “6inLodz” project by the Łódź Atlas Sztuki Foundation, exhibiting alongside notable photographers.

His current focus is the “Osiedle Z” project, an ongoing contemporary art series inspired by Jerzy Nowosielski and Erik Satie, which explores the extraordinary in everyday places. This series will premiere in Tychy in 2025 before touring other cities. Artur Jastrzębski’s photographs have been featured in numerous magazines, including National Geographic Traveler and Gazeta Wyborcza, and exhibited internationally in countries like Japan, Germany, and the Czech Republic. His unwavering passion continues to define his work.
