About the Photographer

Brigitte B Burckhardt was born and raised in Switzerland, where she still lives today. Her passion for photography began in childhood, inspired by her grandfather — whose name she chose to carry as her artist name, honoring his memory. Although she dreamed of becoming a professional photographer, she chose to study medicine to secure her future.

In her twenties, after completing university, Brigitte traveled extensively around the globe with her analog camera, discovering a deep love for street and landscape photography, both in color and black and white. She spent countless hours in the darkroom, bringing her images to life. Later, her work as an MD left little time for photography, but a life-changing event a few years ago allowed her to return fully to her creative passion.

Today, she works primarily with digital photography while also exploring experimental and abstract approaches. Her photographs have been published in several art magazines across Europe, the United States, and Canada. Docu Magazine even released two special editions dedicated to her work. Since 2022, her photography has been exhibited — both physically and virtually — in the US, the UK, Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, Turkey, the West Indies, and soon in Australia.

In April 2025, her artwork was showcased at Artexpo New York, and in June the same year at Art Basel. In 2024, she was invited to become a member of Street Photography France, a recognition of her talent and unique perspective.

Brigitte is currently working on three long-term photography projects with the goal of publishing them in the future.
