About the Photographer

Geoffrey Krader is an award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States, Europe, and online. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, he discovered his passion for photography in the early 1980s with his first SLR camera. Photography classes taught him that creating strong images requires making many images—something made far easier after his transition from analog to digital in 2005.

Guided by curiosity and a love of exploration, Geoffrey Krader has photographed in all 50 U.S. states and more than 30 countries across four continents. He is drawn to places off the beaten path, seeking scenes where light, color, and texture come together in unexpected ways. After years of overwhelming friends and family with thousands of travel photos, he began participating in exhibitions, where his work has been warmly received.

Since retiring in 2018 from careers in telecommunications and college teaching, he has been able to dedicate more time to travel and photography—though his friends and family now find themselves receiving regular updates whenever a new competition or exhibition is announced.
