About the Photographer
Izabella Sapuła is a Polish photographer whose work explores identity, memory, and the human connection to nature. With a background in psychology, she focuses on emotional undercurrents and subtle, often inherited experiences that shape who we are.
Her photography blends documentary and fine art, often using female figures as symbolic vessels of memory, intuition, and ancestral ties. In her recent project Roots, she delves into themes of inheritance, primal memory, and emotional DNA — reflecting on what the body remembers even when the mind forgets.
Izabella’s work has been exhibited in New York, Paris, Seoul, Milan, and Barcelona, including the International Women Photographers Festival and ImageNation. She is a recipient of multiple international awards, such as Gold and Platinum honors from the London, European, and New York Photography Awards, as well as distinctions in the Julia Margaret Cameron and Chromatic Awards. She lives and works in Poland, developing projects that merge art, nature, and reflections on human origins.
