About the Photographer
Born in Hasselt, Belgium, on April 20, 1961, Johan Willems developed an early interest in photography, initially capturing family celebrations and trips. This passion soon evolved to combine travel with photography, leading him to discover his specialized fields: portrait photography and wildlife photography.
Willems actively sought to refine his skills, learning from professional photographers who generously shared their expertise. His deep affection for the African continent began in 2008, initially focusing on portraits. By 2014, his attention shifted more towards wildlife, captivated by the warmth and genuine friendliness of the African people, the breathtaking nature, and the immersive safari experiences.
Johan Willems’ primary goal is to host his own photo exhibition, showcasing his distinctive work.
