About the Photographer
Jurica Galić Juka is a freelance documentary photographer from Split, Croatia, where he was born in 1976. For over a decade, he has been a contributor to the Croatian magazine Meridijani, often referred to as the “Croatian National Geographic.” His work has also been published in National Geographic Croatia as well as in numerous international media, including The Guardian, Place2Go, Adriatic Travel, and Travel Magazine.
Working professionally in photography for more than fourteen years, Jurica Galić Juka has received over 200 international awards and recognitions and has presented 15 solo exhibitions. His contributions to photography were further acknowledged with Croatia’s highest lifetime photography honor, the Tošo Dabac Award, granted for exceptional achievement in the field.
In 2025, his photography “Back to the Past” was named Photography of the Year winner by Grid Photo Gallery, adding to a distinguished career dedicated to documentary storytelling and visual journalism.
