About the Photographer

Ingrid Ponnet is a Belgian fine art photographer based in Flanders. Trained in orthopedagogy, she worked for many years with people with mental and multiple disabilities—an experience that reinforced her belief that the “small” human being holds a meaningful place within a larger whole, provided we choose to notice and include them in the frame.

She began studying photography about fifteen years ago, moving from street photography into black-and-white fine art work. Her visual language explores the poetic tension between architecture and humanity, using lines, curves, contrast, and reflections to form minimalistic compositions in which the human figure remains modest yet essential.

Her work has been exhibited at the Church of Ressegem, the historical Borluut Castle, and as guest photographer at the Sint-Niklaas Photo Club exhibition. She was selected for the Grid Photo Gallery Black&White Exhibition 2025 and received Second Prize in the Cameranu Fine Art Photography Competition in the Netherlands.

“I seek spaces where architecture pauses and humanity quietly appears.”
