Seppo Tuomaala

About the Photographer

Seppo Tuomaala is a Finnish photographer whose work moves between documentary storytelling and fine art wildlife photography. His images explore themes of presence, isolation, memory, and the fragile relationship between people and the natural world.

Originally influenced by documentary and street photography, Seppo Tuomaala has increasingly turned his attention toward minimalist wildlife imagery and emotionally driven visual narratives. His photographs often balance realism with abstraction, seeking a sense of atmosphere and emotional resonance beyond the spectacle of the subject itself.

His recent recognition includes being named the winner of Grid Photo Gallery’s Animals 2026 competition, as well as finalist distinctions in the Hasselblad Masters 2026 and World Street Photo Awards 2025, and a Merit Mention at the All About Photo Awards 2026.
